Root Canal Specialists
This is the most advanced technology available today in the field of endodontics (dentistry specialized in root infection/inflammation). It is an innovative tool that aids us in uncovering calcified and hidden canals, unreachable tissues, bacteria and the biproducts. The type of laser used in our office enables the disinfectant solutions and water to penetrate deep into the areas of the roots (laser assisted irrigation), which are unreachable with conventional techniques / materials. It provides the doctor the ability to clean and disinfect the infected/inflamed roots with an unprecedented effectiveness resulting in lesser number of appointments and less post treatment discomfort.
And because of this effectiveness, it is no longer necessary to remove large amounts of tooth structure to clean and disinfect the canals effectively: this Laser assisted irrigation aids us in prevention of the future potential root fracture due to the higher retention of the natural tooth structure.
This advanced imaging is referred to as 3-D imaging or a “CAT scan” for the tooth. Our machine provides us the most accurate three-dimensional visualization of teeth and the surrounding structures with minimal radiation (radiation from a typical scan at our office is equal or less than that from a traditional panoramic scan). This technology gives us the ability to look into problem areas with cracks, hidden canals, and structural defects, which was not possible with 2-D imaging. This CT scan enables us to provide highly competent patient care with more accurate diagnosis, treatment and surgical planning than ever before. A lot of “surprise” discoveries are possible after a routine scan as we are able to see unexpected problems OR clear cases (needing no treatment) which are referred to our office for possible infection/problems.

Just like Laser and CT scan, surgical microscopes brought a significant breakthrough in the field of endodontics. As Dr. Park never practiced without a microscope in her 20 years of practice, she cannot imagine the days when this technology was unavailable. Our practice is equipped with Zeiss (world’s best optics thus far) and Global (An American company, yes!) surgical microscopes in all treatment rooms. These microscopes are utilized during all of our surgical and non-surgical treatments. They provide numerous settings of magnification and illumination, and allow the doctor to examine the internal anatomy of your tooth. This ability to see down to the “microscopic” level aids us to reach the highest possible endodontic success. This means, in addition to the routine endodontic procedures of locating / disinfecting the natural tooth structure, the doctor is also able to see and treat hidden canals, cracks, damages, and defects.
Digital radiography has made obtaining 2-D x-ray images faster, more comfortable, and more convenient. Digital radiographs are acquired using significantly less radiation (90 % less exposure time) than traditional radiographs and require no use of chemicals. Our “x-ray” system comes with many benefits. It is not only safer but works much more quickly than the traditional system. It allows us to obtain accurate measurements during planning and treatment. It also enables the doctor to manipulate the images to gain more crucial and clear diagnostic images for a more comprehensive view of your teeth and the surrounding structures.
In addition to the above-mentioned equipment, we operate with many other advanced instruments including Apex Locator (pinpoint the location of the instrument used inside the root), iPad assisted hand pieces, and Ultrasonic devices.
